Finish Strong:
10 Ways to Achieve Your Social Goals in Q4

Hit your year-end KPIs and set your brand up for success in 2027.

Marketers know the Q4 hustle: You gotta hit those numbers, because what happens now will make or break what you’ll get for budget and resources in the new year. But don’t despair. You still have time to make meaningful adjustments that set you up as a rockstar and give you the leeway to kill it in 2027.

Look at what’s performing, where your budget can make the biggest impact, and which opportunities deserve more attention before the year wraps up.

In this guide, we’re sharing ten practical ways marketing leaders can make their socials work harder this quarter.

1. The campaigns killing it deserve an even bigger allocation.

By Q4, your paid social campaigns have been collecting clues for months. Now it’s time to put those insights to work and make every remaining ad dollar earn its spot.

Focus on the metrics closest to conversion, including online purchases, inbound leads, cost-per-lead, and other high-value actions. Then dig into which audiences, creative, and messages keep getting people across the finish line. That’s where your Q4 budget deserves some extra attention. Shift spend further down the funnel and put those year-end dollars behind the tactics already proving they can turn attention into action and drive a stronger ROI.

2. Give your best organic posts a paid promotion  — literally.

Your organic content is constantly dropping hints about what your audience wants more of. When something racks up engagement, clicks, or shares without paid support, your audience is waving a giant neon sign that says, “More of this, please.” That’s a very good reason to give that topic, message, or creative asset more attention.

While you’re looking back at what content did well this year, keep an eye on organic performance throughout Q4 and flag the posts that rise to the top. Put paid spend behind the original post to get it in front of more people, or take the hook, format, topic, or message that worked and turn it into a new paid ad focused on conversions. Scrollers have already given it the thumbs-up. Now see what else it can do.

3. Creative fatigue is real. Here's the fix.

We all have favorites (Our own CEO Eric keeps asking us to re-post an old team TikTok he can’t get enough of… time for an update!) But the graphic that crushed it in March? The messaging that keeps making its way back onto the calendar? The graphic template that has become your team’s go-to? By Q4, your viewers may be more than familiar with them, too. That’s creative fatigue — when people have seen the same or similar content enough times that it becomes invisible.

Take a look across your brand’s paid and organic social and identify what’s been getting too much screen time. Tired design, declining engagement, and weak paid performance can signal that you’re overdue to mix things up. Try a punchier hook, upgrade your graphics templates, trade the static image for a Reel or carousel, tighten the copy, or take a familiar message in a completely different direction. Keep the idea that works, but give your audience a fresh reason to pay attention.

4. It's performance review season for your content pillars.

Your brand’s themes have a job to do, so make sure they’re pulling their weight. Every ad and post should reinforce the messaging priorities you want your audience to know, remember, and associate with your brand. It’s easy to get in the “We just need to post something” rut, but you have precious time now to course correct.

Take a look at the past few months, map your content back to your key pillars, and compare performance. Are some priorities getting all the attention? Are others falling behind? Dig into why. Maybe the topic needs a fresh creative approach (yes, this is your permission to have a little fun with it), the messaging could use a refresh, or you simply got out of the habit of posting strategically. Use this month to tighten the mix, give your strongest messages more attention, and keep your content focused on what matters most so Q4 shines brightly. Have fun with new formats, creative approaches, and timely ideas, but keep your key messaging at the center of what you create.

5. Ride One Trending Conversation for a Quick Win

Your content calendar may be planned, polished, and beautifully color-coded. But sometimes the best post on your calendar wasn’t on the calendar at all. (We know — this is exactly the opposite of hint #4. Roll with it.)

Each month, pick one relevant industry or seasonal conversation getting attention and give your team 48 hours to jump in with a take that makes sense for your brand and will delight your followers. No need to send the whole calendar into chaos. One timely post will do.

Then compare its engagement rate to your last five scheduled posts. More comments? More shares? More clicks? See how your timely post stacks up and use what you learn to decide when it pays to make room for the unexpected.

6. If your content gets the party started, stay for the whole thing.

Holiday content can get people clicking, commenting, asking questions, and sliding into your DMs. That’s exactly what you want, so make sure you’re there when it happens (because posting and immediately making yourself scarce defeats the purpose).

Build community management into your Q4 plan so your team has time to respond to comments and DMs, acknowledge mentions, answer questions, and spot conversations worth escalating. A product question could turn into a purchase. You know that question your audience keeps asking in your comments, because you keep answering it. In the comments. That question is your next content idea!

Who’s in charge of community management?

Do they know?

Who’s their backup?

Do they know?

7. Save money, save time, and repurpose what’s already in your asset bank.

It seems so obvious, right? We’ve dedicated multiple tips to basically, “Do more of what’s been working.” But you know what’s awesome about that? You already have content gold sitting right in front of you. Before you spend more time and budget dreaming up the next big thing, take a look at the best of what you’ve created in the last year. You may find that your strongest campaigns, research, webinars, case studies, videos, and top-performing posts have plenty of life left in them.

Give the brainstorm a break and go back to the ideas and assets that performed well. Then find new ways to put them to work across platforms and formats. Turn a webinar into short video clips, make the best takeaways a carousel, give a standout quote its own graphic, or remix a high-performing post for another channel. Give each version a fresh angle and purpose so you’re building on what you already know resonates. You already invested in the creation of strong content assets. Q4 is your chance to squeeze even more value

out of them.

8. Your best ideas look even better on camera.

Short-form video gives you plenty of room to keep things simple and personable. One useful idea, a clear point, and some personality can go a long way on Reels and TikTok. Your brand already has plenty to talk about, so put some of those statements on camera. In our experience, UGC-style talking head videos generate serious engagement and goodwill.

Have someone on your team answer a question you hear all the time, assign a subject matter expert to share one useful takeaway, weigh in on an industry conversation, show how something works, or introduce the people behind your brand.

Keep each video focused on one idea (start with those content pillars, right?), lead with the most interesting part, and create with the platform in mind. No need to save every insight for the next webinar. Some of them can stand alone as their own 30 second segment.

9. Put a little more punch in your year-end messaging.

Your audience’s priorities can shift as the year winds down, which gives you an opportunity to make your messaging even more relevant. Think about what matters right now. Consumers are thinking about the holidays. B2B decision makers may be focused on making the most of their remaining budget (let’s chat!), reaching year-end goals, saving time, or heading into the new year with a stronger plan. Use those motivations and pain points to guide your content and show how your brand can support what they’re working toward.

Start by mapping out what’s on their mind right now and then build your content around those specific motivations.

Here are three ways to put this into practice:

  • Swap generic CTAs for urgency-driven ones, like turning “learn more” into “lock in your rate before it resets” or “start now so you’re not scrambling later.”

  • Turn your team’s most common sales or support questions into public content, so if people are asking whether they can still get started before the year ends, you’re answering it.

  • Create a “before the year ends” checklist post, and make sure your product or service is one of the items on it.

The more specific your messaging is to what’s motivating your customers this time of year, the easier it is to earn their attention, encourage action, and goose your 2026 ROI.

10. Give those Q4 numbers something to brag about.

The year may be winding down, but your social strategy still has one more job: Make next year’s decisions a whole lot easier. You’ve spent months collecting paid and organic performance data, so put it to work while it’s fresh.

Pull your year-to-date results and get specific about what earned its keep.

  1. Which platforms delivered?

  2. Which post formats consistently outperformed the rest: Reels, carousels, static images, or something else?

  3. Where did your budget drive the strongest returns, and where could you have spent it better?

  4. What content pillar or theme outperformed the others?

  5. What's one thing you'd do differently if you had a bigger budget?

  6. What were your biggest wins?

  7. Where did things go wrong?

  8. What’s the most important metric to share up the ladder?

  9. What’s the plan for growth in the new year?

Bring those wins, misses, and lessons into next year’s plan, with clear metrics and actionable next steps behind your recommendations. The stronger the case you build now, the better positioned you’ll be to protect your budget, ask for more, and put next year’s spend where it can have the biggest impact.
